Just completed, the Tamworth Astronomy Experience was a resounding success!
At $2,200 per person which included bus travel and most meals, most of the 12 attendees have indicated they wish to return next year!
Our behind the scenes visits to the Lockheed/Martin Satellite Command and Space Centre near Tamworth, the AAT at Siding Spring Observatory, the iTelescope.net at Siding Spring, the Lowe Observatory at Bendemeer, the Andromeda Engineering Aerospace Workshops at Moonbi and the Tamworth Astronomy and Science Centre captivated the attention of all the attendees. John Gould’s (Vice President Shoalhaven Astronomers) presentation on photographing the triplet galaxies in Virgo was great fun. The full day hands on astrophoto workshop had all producing excellent stacked final images. Their magnificent certificates of attendance will now be displayed across all three Eastern states of Australia. More details and photos will be posted here soon. Also, watch out for a full report in a forthcoming edition of Australian Sky & Telescope!
