The Astronomy and Science Centre, located at Victoria Park, top end of Piper Street, East Tamworth (see map below), is open to TRAC members and the public at the following times:
Admission to the Centre is $10.00 per adult. School students and TRAC members enter for free.

Interactive displays including telescopes, minerals and megafauna, kiddies table, planetarium theatre and much more! Telescope viewings are subject to weather conditions. Please note that COVID-19 rules apply in accordance with current NSW Government regulations.
- Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for inspections of displays, including solar telescope viewings.
- Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm for Standard Time, 6:00 pm Daylight Saving Time for our working group meetings, including telescope viewings. Every third Thursday of the month is a 'Tech Night' with a focus on a particular topic. (Please note, viewing is not possible until after dark, around 7-8 pm in Summer.).
- The first Saturday of each month for TRAC's monthly Public Event Night (apart from January) for TRAC's Public Event Nights from 6:00 pm. The next will be held on Saturday, 5 April, 2025. 6:00 pm: social, tea/coffee/biscuits/drinks available (token charges). 6.45 pm: Welcome, Club happenings update. 7:00 pm: Live online Astronomy presentation by Dr Brad Tucker, Astrophysicist/Cosmologist, Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Mount Stromlo Observatory and the National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science, Australian National University. Topic: "Past, Present and Future of Mount Stromlo Observatory - Celebrating 100 years". Telescope viewing following the presentation (weather cooperating!). We'll have optical viewing telescopes and the 34 inch Hewitt Camera looking at galaxies, nebulas, clusters, comets, etc. Don't forget to bring a jacket as the evenings can be cool at this time of the year.
- Every third Sunday of the month from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm along with the Tamworth and District Model Engineers miniature railway public running days.
